This is currently a release candidate so it has a higher risk of new bugs. If no serious bugs are found, it will be promoted to a stable release, otherwise it will be superseded by version 36.

What's new

GUI
Opening STEP assemblies. Their separate bodies become separate components.
The timeline shows multiple graphs at the same time. Configurable from 1-10. Colored symbols on the nodes indicate which curve they are for.
The timeline can be optionally moved to the right hand side of the window (Tools -> Options)
n,f,e keys to switch selection modes between nodes, faces, and elements.
Coincident nodes are visually separated on mouseover in select nodes mode.
Graphics symbol size factor applies to spring, damper, resistor, gap, truss.
Open cracks view doesn’t shrink generalized spring or gap elements.
Surface normal integral works on shell edges.
Units for surface and volume integral of temperature, and volume inteagral of heat flux.
Multiple selections of components in the outline tree selects all their elements instead of just the last one's.

Multiple solvers
6 DOF spring. 6 independent DOF springs between two nodes. Works with all 3D mechanical analysis types in all 4 solvers, except no rotational DOFS for CCX.
Shell offset input removed and converts old files to Element offset on opening.
Stress and strain in ply coordinates for composites with the internal and OpenRadioss solvers.

Internal solver
Flexible joint on beam can include translational DOF releases too.
Twist angle solution variable deprecated.
Incompatible mode hex8 option removed. It's now always on.
2D beam and truss elements deprecated and disabled by default.

OpenRadioss
Angular velocity solution variable

Mystran
Updated to version from 2026-12-01.
CQUAD4 shell is always MITC4+

Comments

  • Ouuu, thanks for the update, will test asap
  • The STEP assembly is really nice and even works with nested subassemblies and lets us mesh all parts of a (sub)assembly with one click. Very very nice!
